As the saying goes, “many hands make light work” as was the case yesterday at the town hall in Cherry Valley.  Glen Wallis, Chair of the Athol Recreation Committee arranged a wonderful day of numerous tasks for a dedicated group of volunteers.  From painting, to completing the kitchen renovation to installing blinds,  all hands were on deck.  Special thanks to the ladies from the Cherry Valley Women’s Institute for providing a lovely lunch for all the volunteers.

Hats off to the volunteer crew of:

Peta Shelton, Ryan Noth (Vice Chair), Tess Girard, Mac Ross, Donna Kaye (Committee Member), John McKinnon, Hri Neil, Ray Patterson, Peter Blendell, Denise Tierney, Diane Ferrier, Ramesh Pooran, Susan Wallis (Treasurer) and Glen Wallis (Chair).

Ping Pong Fun!

Fun was had by all who attended the Ping Pong Tournament this past Sunday in Cherry Valley.  Organized by Donna Kaye,  Joe Skratt and Susan Wallis the event attracted  wonderful players all vying for the Golden Paddle.  Alas after numerous matches and a lovely lunch, there could be only one winner!

Going neck to neck right up until the end was Jeremy Kaye from Cherry Valley and Clarence Rainey from Wellington.  In a dazzling final match Clarence Rainey came out the 2016 Golden Paddle Champ!
