The Athol Hall Recreation Committee was happy to co-sponsor with the Friends of East Lake, the recent ‘FROG WATCH & TURTLE TALLY’ on May 25th.
Children ranging in age from about 4 to 12, along with their parents and grandparents, spent the early afternnon learning all about frogs and turtles from the Toronto Zoo’s Crystal Robertson, Stewardship Coordinator of the Adopt-A-Pond Programme. The event also included a hot dog lunch and was followed by a visit to a local pond to try and find real-life species.
All in attendance came away with a great deal of new information and enthusiasm.
