Over 100 friends and neighbours joined us for Breakfast with Santa, starting their day with pancakes drizzled with warm local maple syrup, breakfast sausages, and tasty coffee and OJ. When parents and grandparents were not taking photos of Santa visiting with children, Santa took the time to join families while they ate breakfast, bringing magic and the twinkle to the eyes of many. When it was time head home, each young person was gifted a book of their choosing from the amazing team of County Kids Read.
Thank you to community members who donated products and services to the event: Dunrose Distribution, Shannon Warr-Hunter, Guernsey Farms, PECish, CML Snider School Council, and County Kids Reads.
Thank you to community volunteers who brought the holiday cheer: Santa, Sabrina, Bev, Bonnie, Tatiana, Stephanie, Nancy, Brett, Jeremy, Glen, Susan, Michelle, Jordan and the County Kids Reads team. Super shout out to youth volunteers Dulten, Conrad, Rhys, Elliot, Noah, Aubrey, Levi, Audrey and Adam.
Thanks to our event organizers Alison and Stephanie and the entire Athol Recreation Committee of Susan, Glen, Robin, Jeremy, Ramesh, Nancy and Athol Councillor Sam.
Last, a HUGE thank you to all who attended and supported this community event. You helped create the warmest and most fun atmosphere for community members to catch up while filling their bellies with food, and their heart with love and laughter. It was an opportunity to slow down and appreciate the small and magical things that Athol offers. You made that happen.
Thank you to those who donated at the door. The committee will decide in January how best to utilize your donations to support this amazing community. Wishing you all laughter and friendship as we bid farewell to 2023. We look forward to creating more memories with you in 2024.
