About 65 friends, family and community members enjoyed a preview screening of Cherry Valley filmmaker Tess Girard’s documentary “As the Crow Flies”. The film follows a group of 17-year-old air cadets on an intense seven-week course to get their private pilot’s licence. Tess was a graduate of the same program and was able to provide an intimate behind-the-scenes portrayal of the cadets.
Tess approached the Athol Rec Committee to arrange the screening, which occurred cioincident with its premiere on the Documentary channel. Attendees were able to have a glass of wine or beer, with snacks including tasty samosas, while watching the film. Everyone enjoyed the show, and Tess was on hand afterwards to answer questions.
