Volunteer Opportunities:
INSTALLATION:
We are looking for volunteers to help with the creation of props and decorations for the event.
We will be hosting craft hours at an art studio located at Camp Picton.
Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursday afternoon/evenings.
Please let us know what dates and times work for you to volunteer your crafting skills!
Set up installation dates: 28th & 29th. At Macaulay Heritage Park.
This year we have 2 full days to work on decorating and preparing the site for our haunted walk.
Tear down / clean up October 31st night and November 1st morning.
We will need hands to help tear down the event the morning of November 1st.
HAUNTERS:
This year we are doing a “haunted walk”, instead of a drive thru. This means that we have to observe covid-saftey protocols when haunting this year.
For costumes, our theme this year is “CLASSIC HORROR” and the site is from the 1800s. Keep this in mind when choosing your costume. There is some flexibility of course.
If you are interested in volunteering please email terroratmacaulay@gmail.com

The Worldwide Christmas Eve Jingle is a simple idea that started with one woman, Mary Beggs-Reid in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, a small town in England and has since spread across the Earth.
On Christmas Eve, at 6 p.m. local time, families around the world will stand on their front steps and simply ring a bell for 2 minutes. Organizers are hoping that the sounds on that still winter night will travel all the way to the North Pole to help guide Santa on his way. But more than that, the sound will lift the hearts of those near and far who are doing their best to keep the Christmas spirit alive in these very challenging times.
The Athol Recreation Committee invites all members of our community to join in this event.
So find a bell and we look forward to hearing you on Christmas Eve at 6 pm.
Thank you to local resident Lesley Hadrill for getting the ball rolling on this initiative or should we say bell ringing?
Wishing all a safe and happy holiday season!
From the folks of the Athol Recreation Committee
