The Athol Recreation Centre

Toronto Sketchfest knows that the Athol community loves comedy.  So they are offering us a great opportunity to travel to Toronto to see either “

Women Fully Clothed” or “Bruce McCulloch”.

They’re looking for a group of 30+ adventurous comedy fans in the Belleville/Prince Edward County area to book passage on The TOsketchfest County Comedy Bus on Saturday, March 3rd.  Buses will depart from central locations in Picton and Belleville, and travel to Toronto for arrival ~5:30/6pm, in time for passengers to grab a pre-show bite before one of two amazing 8pm shows:

You buy a ticket to either of the shows and they will transport you there and back!

As soon as they get 30 reservations for one of these comedy buses, we’ll issue tickets and confirm transport details.  Deadline to buy tickets is  Wednesday, February 28th!!!!

This Thursday’s (Dec. 14th) class of Yoga with Carrie will be the last one of the year.  Classes will resume January 4th 2018.

Due to unfrozen reasons Carrie has had to cancel the yoga class this evening at 5:30 pm.

The Athol Recreation Committee

Athol Recreation Committee has the mandate to use funds entrusted to it by the Municipality to provide opportunities for recreation in our community. We present the annual Strawberry Social, a Halloween dance,  music nights, movie screenings, yoga classes, yard sales, craft workshops, concerts, play days, clothes swaps and a fiercely fought Scrabble tournament. We organize and subsidize bus trips to go bowling and to a Christmas pantomime, mini golf days as well as sponsoring regular comedy improv nights with the Taste That troupe all in the Athol Town Hall.
We have donated sports equipment to Athol and South Marysburgh School and helped some children participate in extracurricular activities they might otherwise have missed.

We sponsored Tynika Williams of Athol to play hockey with the Belleville Bearcats, and now we welcome enquiries about sponsoring other local youth in educational and recreational activities.
