Yoga Classes with instructor Janet Elson will continue  for the month of July as follows:

Thursday July 18th at 9:30 am

Tuesday July 24th at 5:30 pm

Thursday July 26th at 9:30 am

Classes will then resume again on September 10th 2013.

Cherry Jubilee

a success once again.  

Listed  below are a few areas  with regards to the

Long Table Luncheon that we need help with :

Preparation in advance:  Help make the potatoe salad (recipe provided).

Set up of Long Table Lunch (tables, chairs, tablecloths etc.  Morning of July 27th)

Serving ( July 27th 2 seatings 11:30 am – 1 pm or 1:30pm – 3pm)

Clean up  July 27th 3-4 pm

Once again the Athol Town Hall was filled with happy faces enjoying local strawberries from Laundry Farms,  (thanks Jean and Terry!) along with homebaked cakes donated by so many wonderful bakers in our community and a big scoop of icecream.  Thanks to all our hullers, servers, bakers and helpers.

Special thanks to the event organizers Glen and Susan Wallis of Cherry Valley for organizing this event for the 3rd year!  The hall once again looked so welcoming  and the strawberries were oh so sweet!

As in past years Susan and Glen invited wonderful celebrity bakers to donate their baking talents:  Anne House of Mad Dog Gallery, Chris Wylie of the Manse, Cynthia Peters of From the Farm Cooking School, Graham Davies aka the Bald Photographer,  Jenny & Kyle Otsuka owners of Zest Kitchen Store, Henry Willis of Humble Breads and Meghan Van Horne of the Regent Cafe who donated the wonderful Strawberry Cake she created especially for our raffle.

A steady flow of people attended throughout the 2 hours.  The lovely desserts were sooooo good that by  5:30 pm persons were asking for seconds.  Once everyone had been served once Glen announced that seconds were welcome at no extra charge.  We have a feeling there were even thirds and fourths!!!!!

Fun was had by all…….

Thanks once again to all our poster crew,hullers, bakers, servers, set-up and take down crew and kitchen clean up crew:

Can you help hull strawberries from Laundry Farms this Tuesday night from 7-9 pm ?????

 (after Yoga class) at the Athol Town Hall in Cherry Valley?

If so can bring your own knife or huller!  Great opportunity to see your neighbors!!!

OR

Can you bake a cake, any cake!!! All cakes taste wonderful with fresh local strawberries and ice cream!

Drop your cake off anytime on Wednesday June 26th between noon and 5 pm to the Town Hall in Cherry Valley.

Cupcakes are welcome too!

The Strawberry Social starts at 5 pm and runs to 7 pm on Wednesday June 26th.

Along with the wonderful donated cakes and local strawberries and ice cream we will also be serving Tim Horton’s coffee.

And don’t forget our wonderful celebrity bakers who are donating to the event:

Regent Cafe in Picton baked by the one and only Meghan Van Horne and a few other  surprise  items we will be raffling off.

Event will go on rain or shine!!!!  Nothing will dampen our enthusiasm for summer fresh strawberries.
