The Athol Recreation Committee is pleased to announce the 2018 winner of the Phil Dodds award for excellence in volunteerism to the Athol Community is Barbara Wyatt.

Barbara has been active on the Committee for many years.  She was instrumental in every event that the Committee organizes by being our contact with the County on all hall bookings.   She was also responsible for initiating the display of the Alva Stephen’s ledger, an important Cherry Valley artifact.   Barbara was also a member of the Committee that established the important East Lake and Watershed Stewardship Plan that protects the waters and banks of East Lake.  She is also a member of the Cherry Valley Chicks, a weekly gentle Wednesday morning exercise class from 10- 11 am.  Barbara rarely misses a monthly meeting and brings to them fresh community-minded ideas and input and of course her wit, which makes her such a special addition to our Committee.

Thank you Barb!
